Tuchel likens Klopp’s ‘winning machine’ Liverpool to Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid – Talk Chelsea

As Tuchel looks to hold onto his unbeaten run in his tenth game as Chelsea manager, Klopp’s struggling Liverpool side enter the clash having lost their last 4 home matches in Premier League.

What will be astonishing to watch is Liverpool lose their fifth consecutive home game – an unwanted and never-seen-before record. At the same time, Chelsea are undefeated in 7 games in the top-flight since Tuchel’s appointment. (whoscored.com)

Ahead of the match, Tuchel spoke highly of Liverpool and their boss Jurgen Klopp, with whom Tuchel has a long indirect history.

Speaking to Chelsea TV in an exclusive interview, Tuchel said:

“I have the utmost respect for him. He left his footprints in the three clubs he managed – Mainz, Dortmund and Liverpool. He built a strong group, strong club and got the winning mentality. That’s a great achievement. He is one of the best coaches in Europe.

It brings me out of bed early to play against him and his team. He is outstanding. He transformed any club he worked in into a unit and Liverpool into a winning machine. Similar to Atletico & Diego Simeone.” (chelseafc.com)

On playing at Anfield for the first time in the Premier League, he said:

“To arrive in Anfield with a strong side is the best feeling. We are excited, it’s going to be a tough battle.”

Chelsea sit one point ahead of Liverpool in fifth place.
